Wellington Auctions Buyers Terms and Conditions.

1) Registration - There is no need to formally register to place a bid on our auctions, we will however, need your postal and email details to confirm your bid when you place it, this to allow us to work out postage costs for invoicing, and for us to be able to contact you after the auction.

2) Bidders are able to check the status via email during the auction, however we will not disclose other bids, or what you need to bid to be successful, this in fairness to other bidders. We will notify you simply whether you are currently winning the lot or not.

3) Unfortunately we are unable to offer 'credit' at this time, we are however prepared to offset sales against purchases if you are known to us and are selling items in any of our auctions.

4) Estimated Values -The estimated value shown after each lot are the auctioneer's estimate of what the lot is expected to realise. The lower of these figures is the reserve, bids will are unlikely to be accepted below this figure.

5) Postal Bidding - You are welcome to bid via the ordinary 'snail mail' postal system to the address listed throughout the website, but all bids must be received by the closing time stated on the auction pages, late bids will unfortunately not be considered.

6) Internet Bidding - Bids by email, can be accepted through our website - www.wellingtonauctions.com, they must include you regular postal address at the time of bidding, so as to allow us to include the correct postal costs on any relevant invoices. All bids will be confirmed by reply manually, usually within 48 hours, if you do not receive a confirmation, please telephone.

7) Telephone Bidding - Telephone bids will be accepted using the numbers listed provided on this site, but we will not be liable for any errors in transcribing lot numbers of bid amounts via this method, although every effort will be made to ensure accuracy. SMS bids can also be accepted, please include NAME, ADDRESS, LOT NUMBER, MAXIMUM BID AMOUNT.

8) Successful bidders will be sent an invoice within 72 hours of the close of the auction, this will be by email to the account that your bid was placed from. Postal or Telephone bidders will receive their invoices via 'snail mail' to the address provided at the time of bidding.

9) Wellington Auctions acts as agent only and is not liable for any default of the purchaser or of the vendor.

10) 'As is' and 'offered on their merits' lots may not be returned for any reason.

11) All returns must be received within 31 days of the closing of the auction date, or 14 days of receipt, whichever is the LATER, any items returned after this period for any reason, will not be refunded, as we will already have paid out the vendor

12) Postage Costs: We operate an inhouse Postal despatch system, and charge as close to cost as possible, these means Royal Mail costs plus between 1 or 2 (this covers materials used in packing, and labour cost.). We always quote Special Delivery charges for items over 60, and Recorded Delivery for those beneath 60. Overseas postage usually depends on location and value.
