1914 Star named to 68959 Gunner F. Newcombe, Royal Field Artillery. British War Medal and Victory Medal both named to 68959 Gunner F. Newcomb, Royal Artillery. Memorial Plaque named to Frederick Newcomb, this with the registered envelope in which the plaque was sent to Mr. Newcombe, 270 Farm Street, Hockley, Birmingham. Gunner Frederick Newcomb died of wounds on 15th November 1914 whilst serving with 51st Battery, Royal Field Artillery, he is remembered on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial. Note difference of spelling of surname on the Star.
