Afghanistan Medal 1878-1880, 2 Clasps: Ahmed Khel, Kandahar, awarded to Corporal James Danavel, 2nd Battalion, 60th Royal Rifle Regiment of Foot, who saw service out in India from December 1870, and was then present during the Second Afghanistan War, in action at Ahmed Khel on 19th April 1880, and then at Kandahar on 1st September 1880.
Afghanistan Medal 1878-1880, two clasps: Ahmed Khel, Kandahar; (1910. CORPL. J. DANAVEL. 2/60TH. FOOT.) James Danavel, surname also spelt Danaval, was posted as a Rifleman (No.1910) with the 2nd Battalion, 60th Royal Rifle Regiment of Foot out to India on 18th December 1870, and whilst his regiment was based at Peshawar, he was on detached service at Muree during April to June 1871. Danavel went on to see service as a Corporal during the Second Afghanistan War, and was present in action at Ahmed Khel on 19th April 1880, and then at Kandahar on 1st September 1880. Having then been promoted to Sergeant, he was reduced to Private on his discharge on 30th April 1883. light contact wear, Very fine
