Adam Brydone was born in Selkirk, Scotland, and saw service during the Great War as a Private (No.6484) with the 1st/4th Battalion, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, Territorial Force, being present out at Gallipoli from 4th June 1915. Brydone was killed in action there on 12th July 1915 during the attack towards Krithia along Achi Baba Nullah. Having no known grave he is commemorated by name on the Helles Memorial. Aged 19 at the tine of his death, he was the son of James Brydone, of Scott Crescent, Selkirk.
