Lieutenant Colonel of the Medical Service Georgy Aleksandrovich Mikhailov was born in Leningrad in 1916, a member of the Communist Party, he had joined the Red Army in 1936. He had been awarded the Medal for Combat Merit on 5th November 1946, an Order of the Red Star on 19th November 1951, and this award of the Order of the Red Banner on 30th December 1956, all three of these awards being for Long Service. He was also awarded a Medal for Victory over Germany, and a Medal for the 30th Anniversary of the Soviet Army and Navy.

In 1957 he was noted as a Student at the 1st Faculty of S.M. Kirov, Order of Lenin Military Academy, and was living at 36 Rubenstein Street, Leningrad.
