James Whittaker first landed in France 18-8-1914 and the award of the August to November clasp for his 1914 star is confirmed on his MIC. He was awarded the Serbian medal of Obilic in the London gazette 15-2-1917 for his services during the course of the war. He went on to serve in Afghanistan 1919 & his service is recorded as being with base details when he arrived in France in 1914 but by the time he went to India he was serving with the 75/16 Brigade.
