      A Great War Mons trio, Third Afghan War and Serbian Medal of Obilic group awarded to Bombardier J. Whittaker, Royal Field Artillery who saw was awarded the Serbian Medal of Obilic in the London Gazette of 15th February 1917 for his service during the War.

      A Great War Mons trio, Third Afghan War and Serbian Medal of Obilic group awarded to Bombardier J. Whittaker, Royal Field Artillery who saw was awarded the Serbian Medal of Obilic in the London Gazette of 15th February 1917 for his service during the War. 1914 Star, original 5th Aug-22nd Nov 1914 bar, British War Medal, Victory Medal, India General Service Medal 1908-1935, GVR, 1 Clasp: Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919. Serbia: Silver Medal of Obilic to (75236.GNR/BDR.J.WHITTAKER.R.F.A / R.A). James Whittaker first landed in France 18-8-1914 and the award of the August to November clasp for his 1914 star is confirmed on his MIC. He was awarded the Serbian medal of Obilic in the London gazette 15-2-1917 for his services during the course of the war. He went on to serve in Afghanistan 1919 & his service is recorded as being with base details when he arrived in France in 1914 but by the time he went to India he was serving with the 75/16 Brigade.
