      Ashantee Medal 1873-74, 1 Clasp: Coomassie (2058.PTE.W.McHENDRY.42nd.HIGHRS.1873-4). The recipient was a resident of Kilmarnock & enlisted in to the Black Watch in Glasgow 11-1-1872, He was wounded in action at Fommanah 2-2-1874 when he received a slight gun shot wound to the face. He returned to the UK at the end of the campaign & deserted in 1875. He did return to the regiment and was finally discharged in 1880 when his character was described as Bad. Complete with casualty roll details & other basic biographical details. Good Very Fine
