Campania and later in Egypt. 1914-1915 Star (F.6891 A.G. ROPER. A.M.1. R.N.A.S.) British War Medal and Victory Medal (206891 SGT. A.G. ROPER. R.A.F.) Alfred George Roper was born in Leytonstone, London on 11th October 1889 and was working as a Carpenter when he enlisted into the Royal Naval Air Service on 26th July 1915. He served onboard the aircraft carrier HMS Campania 8th August 1915 until 8th February 1916 and was transferred to the Royal Air Force on its formation in April 1918, going on to serve in Egypt from 17th June 1918 to 5th April 1919 and finally left to the service on 3rd April 1920.
