      Great War 1914 Star and bar trio and Defence Medal to Gunner W. Durden, Royal Field Artillery, later Metropolitan Police who saw serving on the Western Front from 16th August 1914, later being stationed at Tottenham Court Road Police Station as part of the Metropolitan Police.

      Group of 4:1914 Star and copy 5th Aug-22nd Nov bar (71683 GNR. W. DURDEN. R.F.A.) British War Medal and Victory Medal (71683 GNR. W. DURDEN. R.A.) Defence Medal, unnamed as issued.

      Condition: Good Very Fine

      William George Burden was born in Brighton on 10th July 1894 and would see service on the Western Front from 16th August 1914 and having survived the Great War is noted in the 1921 census as having been residing in the section house whilst being stationed at Tottenham Court Road Police Station. He died in Croydon on 2nd September 1974.
