H. DIXON. 5/BORD. R.) British War Medal (2130 PTE. H. DIXON. BORD. R.) Herbert Dixon enlisted in Workington, Cumbria and lived in Even Wood, County Durham. He first landed in France on 26th October 1914 serving with the 5th Battalion, and died of wounds on 4th October 1915. He was 32 years of age at the time of his death an is buried in Houplines Communal Cemetery Extension. He is recorded as the late son of Thomas and Jane Dixon of Workington, Cumberland and the late husband of Rose Dixon of 13 Shirley Terrace, Even Wood, County Durham. (2) Good Very Fine
