Along with recipients Fibre ID Tag. Private John Forbes was born in Dalry, Midlothian and enlisted in Edinburgh before seeing on the Western Front from 12th October 1915 with the 8th Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders. He was killed in action on 19th August 1916 and having no known grave is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.
