      Great War Canal Du Nord casualty pair awarded to Private J. Johnson, 4th Battalion, Canadian Infantry who was killed in action on 27th September 1918. British War Medal and Victory Medal (2448435.PTE.J.JOHNSON.4-CAN.INF). John Johnson was born in Preston, Lancashire but was living & working in the U.S.A when he enlisted in 1917. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders on 27th September 1918 during the attack on the Canal du Nord and is buried in Ontario cemetery. Complete with copy service papers.
