Great War casualty pair awarded to Private T. Burke, 8th Battalion, West Riding Regiment who was killed in action on 17th June 1918 and is buried in Dainville British Cemetery. British War Medal and Victory Medal (23449 PTE. T. BURKE. W.RID.R.) Thomas Burke was both born & enlisted in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire & originally first served overseas with the 8th service battalion of the West Riding Regiment. He transferred to the K.R.R.C & was posted to the 1/16th battalion of the London Regiment. with service number 43621.
