Great War Officers 1914-1915 Star trio and later Second World War Italy theatre group awarded to Serjeant A.E. Wilson, Royal Army Medical Corps, later Lieutenant A.E. Wilson, 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment, together with photographs, sports medals and his original commission document. 1914-1915 Star (40075 SJT. A.E. WILSON. R.A.M.C.) British War Medal and Victory Medal (2. LIEUT. A.E. WILSON.) 1939-1945 Star, Italy Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, along with two silver sports medals. Arthur Edward Wilson saw service on the Western Front from 15th July 1915 serving as a Serjeant with the Royal Army Medical Corps. He would be commissioned into the 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment on 31st July 1917 and after a short spell of service with the 22nd (Service) Battalion of the Manchester Regiment he continued to spend the rest of the his military service with the Border Regiment. HE won two silver boxing medals as a bantamweight. One from the Aldershot athletic association whilst an officer cadet and the other in May 1919 from the Imperial services boxing association whilst he was a Lieutenant with the 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment. Complete with the recipients original commission scroll dated 1917, and his release letter dated 1945, with two photographs of him uniform at the end of WW2, in which he is wearing an M.I.D. oakleaf on his ww2 war medal. No trace of him can be found having received this award though. (7) Nearly Extremely Fine
