James Fyfe Anderson served in India with 1st (Reserve) Garrison Battalion of the Highland Light Infantry. He was one of only 235 recipients of the IGS to this Battalion out of a total issue of 240 to the Regiment. He was attached to 2nd Battalion of the Durham Light Infantry and every member of the Regiment who received the IGS with Afghanistan NWF 1919 clasp were all attached to other units. When he applied for his medals in 1923 he gave a home address of 21 Abercorn Street, Off New City Road, Glasgow. Pair polished and thus Fine, IGS with an edge-knock to rim, (3) Very fine or better
