Heaton, 16th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment Bradford Pals who was taken prisoner of war in April 1918. 1914-1915 Star (16-846 PTE. W. HEATON. W. YORK. R.) British War Medal (16-846 PTE. W. HEATON. W. YORK. R.) William Heaton from Bradford was one of the original members of the 16th Battalion, West Yorkshire Regiment / 1st Bradford Pals. He landed with the battalion in Egypt 22-12-1915 & after service in France he went on to transfer to the 15th service battalion / Leeds pals. He was captured by the Germans & taken prisoner of war in April 1918 when he was wounded in both legs. He was a member of C- company & spent some time is hospital before he was released at the wars end. Along with medal roll details. (2) Very Fine
