British War Medal, Victory Medal and Territorial Force War Medal (39701 PTE. R. COATES. NORTHD FUS.) Roy Coates first served overseas with the Northumberland Fusiliers and went on to serve with the Corps of Hussars with service numbers 80895 and 537760. The recipient was one of only 232 recipients of the TFWM to members of the Northumberland Fusiliers. He is also entitled to the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal which was awarded to him in 1919 but is sadly missing from the group. Complete with medal index card and medal roll details.
