      Great War Western Front casualty 1914-1915 Star trio awarded to Private J.W. Hammond, 7th Battalion, Border Regiment who saw service on the Western Front from 30th December 1915 and died of wounds on 23rd March 1916, now being buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery. 1914-1915 Star British War Medal and Victory Medal (23158 PTE. J.W. HAMMOND. BORD. R.) John William Hammond was born in Martham, Norfolk and enlisted in Norwich. He was originally a member of the Norfolk Regiment but saw service in France with the 7th Battalion, Border Regiment from 30th December 1915. He died of wounds on 23rd March 1916 and is buried in Bailleuel Communal Cemetery. Complete with medal roll details and other basic research. (3) Nearly Extremely Fine
