      Post Great War Mine Clearance Mention in Despatches 1914-1915 Star trio awarded to Chief Engine Room Artificer 2nd Class A.R. Nicholls, Royal Navy who was Mentioned in Despatches in the London Gazette of 11th November 1919 for his work in the Mine Clearance Force subsequent to the 30th June 1919. 1914-1915 Star (270875 A.R. NICHOLLS. ACT C.E.R.A.2. R.N.) British War Medal (270875 A.R. NICHOLLS. C.E.R.A.2. R.N.) and Victory Medal with Mention in Despatches oakleaf emblem this last with name erased. Alfred Richard Nicholls was born in Devonport and saw service as a Chief Engine Room Artificer 2nd Class with the Royal Navy, seeing wartime service aboard Zealandia and Albion amongst some shore establishments, he would be awarded a Long Servic and Good Conduct Medal on 27th February 1918 and would be Mentioned in Despatches in the London Gazette of 11th November 1919 for his work in the Mine Clearance Force subsequent to the 30th June 1919.
