Michael Bohan was a Labourer from Cavan and enlisted in the 4th Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers aged 17 years and 4 months on 24th September 1885. He would later serve in South Africa during the Boer War where he would be present during the operations in Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal.
