Fusilier E.G. Moore, Northumberland Fusiliers saw service in Palestine during the Arab Revolt and would later see service in North Africa during the Second World War.
He would be awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 9th May 1941 for ‘At Derna on Sunday 26th January 1941, Fusilier Moore, acting as Ammunition Number to his Machine Gun Section which was in action at a range of 500 yards from the enemy, made 12 journeys across open country to obtain ammunition under heavy fire from all arms. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Fusilier Moore enabled his section to maintain fire, which eventually silenced the enemy.’.
