Victory Medal (12538 PTE. R.D. CASSON. BORD.R.). Robert Dirkin Casson first landed in Gallipoli / The Balkans on 11th July 1915 serving with the 6th service battalion of the Border Regiment. He was sadly killed in action in France & Flanders on 26th September 1916 and having no known grave he is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial. He was 24 years of age at the time of his death & was both born & enlisted in Kendal. Complete with details from both SDGW & the CWGC. Good Very Fine
